In 1990, after an extensive career in Advertising and teaching Graphic Design at the Salt Lake Community College, Jan began devoting all of her time to fine art. Her commitment to the preservation of all species made the specialty of wildlife art an easy choice. Jan’s soft photo-realism style and technique with colored pencils has put her into a category of her own, often winning the top awards. After 10 years of traveling to wildlife shows, Jan decided to spend her time on private commissions and producing images for publishers. She returned to teaching classes in 2003 and offers classes in her private Artful Heart Center. In 2004 she began painting her very successful line of contemporary paintings.
