Renon Hulet

Renon (Ree) Klossner Hulet was born in Salt Lake City and raised in Murray, Utah. She has also lived in Ohio, Colombia South America, and has traveled extensively worldwide. She has family in Boston and on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, where she often vacations. From a very early age she was interested in both art and writing. “When I was in elementary school, I wrote and illustrated by hand copies of my first literary magazine and sold them for ten cents a copy.” Since then she has been a painter.
“Paint is the tool I use to express my emotional response to a subject, be it a fisherman and child in Maine, white laundry on the line, an iconic water tower, people waiting for a commuter train, a stack of metal buckets holding an umbrella, or a serene church on Nantucket. Like hitting high “A” on a keyboard, which makes a tuning fork vibrate, I feel a unique vibrational message emanating from a subject and it is that particular human experience I work hard to capture in my paintings.”
Renon is a professional award-winning painter of watercolor, oil and acrylic mediums. Her work is currently on exhibit in Nantucket Artworks Gallery in Nantucket, Massachusetts and in Salt Lake City, Utah at Ree Art Gallery and Studio; Schoor Gallery; Every Blooming Thing and The Sugar Space @ River District Gallery.
She studied fine art at the University of Utah and Brigham Young University and has studied privately in the studios and workshops of acclaimed regional and national artists in Utah and Ohio. She is a member of Utah and Ohio Watercolor Societies and is currently the Education Director of the Intermountain Society of Artists.
Renon has been a consistent juried winner of Best in Show, First, Second, Third and Juror’s Choice awards in competitions with the Springville Museum of Art, Utah and Ohio Watercolor Societies, LDS Church Relief Society International Art Competition, American Association of University Women, Midway Plein Air Paradise and Intermountain Society of Artists. Recently she was awarded “Best Watercolor” in the prestigious Fine Arts Studio Online national competition.
She has conducted workshops in Ohio and Utah and teaches painting to private students.
